Kitah Aleph 

Our 2nd graders have a special program, which bridges the transition from Sunday Camp to the Religious Studies program. The curriculum includes:  

  • Learning the Hebew aleph bet and vowels with letter recognition and decoding.

  • Jewish learning includes holiday observance, Tzedakah and Jewish living.  

  • By the end of the year students should be able to read short Hebrew words.


Kitah Bet

This program is for our 3rd graders.  Students will begin to learn to read words and decode sentences.  The Hebrew / Prayer curriculum includes:

  • The students engage in Hebrew reading preparation.

  • Hebrew topics including: color, body parts, days of the week, weather and action words.  

  • Hebrew letter knowledge with the focus on letter recognition and decoding.

  • Hebrew writing.

  • Hebrew topics including: color, body parts, days of the week, weather and action words.

During the the Torah & Jewish living curriculum, students will be learning the first book of the Torah, Bereishit (Genesis), Jewish heroes and Jewish holidays.

Kita Gimmel

The program is for our combined 4th and 5th graders.  Students will be focusing on the Amidah and surrounding prayers. The currciuclumn includes:   

  • Practice reading, emphasizing the prayers being taught that year.

  • Learn recitation and chanting.

  • Learn to translate main Hebrew words/shorashim in prayer.

  • Learn general translation of prayer so students know what they are saying.

  • Discuss context,  content and history of prayer.

  • Develop personal understanding and meaning for prayer.  


During the Torah & Jewish living curriculumn, students will be learning the second book of the Torah, Shemoth (Exodus), Jewish ethics and values and Jewish holidays.


Kitah Dalet

This program is for our 6th graders.  Students will be focusing on the torah service.  The curriculum includes:

  • Practice reading emphasizing the prayers being taught that year.

  • Learn recitation and chanting.

  • Learn to translate main Hebrew words/shorashim in prayer.

  • Learn general translation of prayer so students know what they are saying.

  • Discuss context, content and history of prayer.

  • Develop personal understanding and meaning for prayer


The Torah & Jewish living curriculumn, students will be learning the third book of the Torah, Vayikra (Leviticus), and discussion of “What is Holiness?”
